The birth  of any animal is a breathtaking experience.  Nature has a miraculous way of presenting a new life.  Everyone is amazed by the way the different animals intermingle. A happy environment and lots of tender loving care make for a peaceful and serene setting.

The horse is an archetypal symbol which will always find ways to stir deep and moving ancestral memories in every human being.  While they are decades from challenging traditional American breeds for dominance, the beautiful European horses of the ancient Gypsy culture are rapidly gaining recognition and respect among horse lovers.  The lore of gypsy horses holds that they were bred not only to pull with stamina but to be pets, babysitters, and even guard horses for the Gypsy families.

The Gypsies call them "colored horses".  The breed includes English Shire, Clydesdale, Irish Draft, Dales Pony and Fell Pony.  Some think the Friesian was in the mix, though there is not general agreement on its contribution.  The story of the Gypsy Horses is as mysterious as the colorful Gypsy culture that created it.

The Drum horse is extremely rare, with very few being raised anywhere in the world.  They are generally a mix of gypsy horses, and Shire or Clydesdale horses, with the occasional Irish Draft or Dutch Warmblood.  The most desirable cross is the Gypsy Horse Shire or Clydesdale crosses;  This preserves the feathering which is so desired.  A British Drum Horse is basically a big Gypsy Horse or a Colored Shire Horse.  These horses are used by the British Regimental Calvary for parades and events,  to carry the drummer and 2 solid sliver kettle drums.  They are generally over 16.2 hands tall.  A Drum Horse must have an exceptional disposition.
